Nano This and Nano That - Where or Where is Your Nano At? Arc has e-beam lithography, FIB and other secret technologies to produce true nano-sized features. Single Molecule Rapid DNA Sequencing (also called DNA Nanopore Sequencing) We call this project the DNA Rail Gun, internally. This difficult to make device technology is in its infancy and uses a 3 to 5 nm aperture for the selection/entrapment of the molecule under study. Actual single molecules can be studied in-situ as they pass through the nanopore. This is a true nanotechnology device and not just a marketing slogan. At Arc, the term "nanometer" has a real quantitative meaning. The 4 nm pore below is made straight through a 40 nm SiN window. Arc is accepting RFP's for the continuation of this work and the supply of nanopore chips for scientific studies. Call (651) 789-9000 and ask for Matt Dugas to discuss your needs in this area. Currently we are working with Prof. Fred Spada at UCSD on the study of electronic properties of fluids with the system show below.
